Consignment Review

Use this checklist before marking a consignment ready for shipment.

Intake checks

• Customer is linked correctly.
• Customer TIN, phone, email, and destination address are present.
• Shipping method is set to air or sea.
• Original invoice is uploaded and readable.
• Domestic tracking numbers are added for each supplier shipment where available.
• Insurance and clearing preferences are recorded.

Item checks

Invoice items should be normalized before classification:

• Description is understandable.
• Quantity and unit price match the invoice.
• Total price is correct.
• Simple English product name is present when available.
• Simple Chinese product name is present when needed for export documents.
• Material and product use are present when they improve classification confidence.

Use inline editing for small corrections. If the invoice parse is fundamentally wrong, re-parse or recreate the item set rather than patching many rows manually.

1688 order imports should be reviewed for translation quality before classification. Confirm that simplified English names, Chinese names, material, and product use are useful enough for customs review instead of blindly accepting parser output.

Classification actions

The consignment actions menu supports:

• Classify Items: runs classification only for items missing Uganda HS codes.
• Reclassify All Items: forces classification for every item with a description.
• Estimate Taxes: moves the reviewer to the tax tab.
• Check Translations: moves the reviewer to the item review surface.

China and Uganda HS codes are stored separately. Do not reuse a China export HS code as the Uganda import HS code without review.

Release decision

Release to the forwarder only when:

• Required item fields are complete.
• HS code confidence is acceptable or manually reviewed.
• Special-item warnings are understood.
• Tax estimates are current or intentionally deferred.
• Customer and shipping details are accurate.
• Documents needed by the forwarder are available.
